Re: EM game play
« on: April 05, 2009, 04:51:26 PM »

I grew up on EMs and SS machines, only "recently" getting into DMDs. I have a simply gorgeous Indy in my garage at the moment that plays like new. But I play 2 or 3 games and I switch it off. I'll play Paragon for an hour or so, and 20-30 minutes on Medusa.

The only two games even close to an SS or EM would be CV or Scared Stiff.

I've always had the notion that DMDs "need" the extra lights and whistles because they are simply boring to play. Or there is just too much going on, and you struggle to find the ball, let alone the rules to play it. DMDs are simply too easy. They NEED the toys and flashing lights to entice the player.

I collect SS and EM pins because they are simply better machines than DMDs in my opinion. They are tons more fun to play and they are harder to beat.

A restored SS or EM will always be a welcome addition to my collection. DMDs just don't do it for me !

But everyone is different !
