Yeh.. for " longevity".. an unproven statement!
I still clean up the 30-40 year old #44 (if not chromed) and keep them in use - they seem to last longer than the newer ones.
My 1937 Stoner game still has all the original bulbs in it and all still work.
Its all down to manufacturing practises and bulbs certainly are not made as well as they used to be. LED's are the same.. we are replacing them in the field at an ever increasing rate.
Now let me see... a bulb manufacturer will make a bulb that never needs replacing and kill their own market in the process...
