The trouble is any type of storage system costs money; sometimes more than what it's worth to do it, I reckon.

Having said that sometimes the Reject Shop have good storage options in plastic; I have picked up some 17 compartment organisers for $2 each which will be used for storing smaller components (and electronic bits and pieces). I am already using one to store globes and screws and the like. They may have something that will fit relays and coils. They also have a range of large and reasonably inexpensive plastic 'boxes' that are good for holding all sorts of junk in an unstructured manner, but at least it is all in the one place and can be moved around with ease.
