With the foam it depends on the playfield, sometimes it's still best to wipe the excess off, but most of the time it's not necessary.  Just a light sand when dry.

Thou I should add I'm still a novice at this, this is only the 8th playfield that I've done.

That's eight more than me, Mick  %.% - I REALLY want to learn this part of restoration - and clearcoating.

Clay has a good article on playfield restoration and "planking" on his site. Well covered there..

A document I was reading last week..  ^^^ , and as soon as I saw your thread I remembered it. I didn't even know what "planking" was until I read it !!
