Is that middle (longer) wafer simply a lever that 'opens' contacts of the wafer on either side of it.
Normally the middle wafer conducts the top/bottom wafers thru it (closed circuit), and when the middle wafer-lever is lifted by mechanics, it 'opens' the contact between the top/bottom wafers.
( the wafers shown underneath (in photo) are in the flexed (open-circuit) position, confirming the way i see it ).
I'm assuming the top & bottom wafers have wires in/out of them (only 2 wires) and the middle is strictly a conducting lever ???
