It all comes with a bit of experience. Enjoy the game before you take the next step. I would be very pleased with those results.

Removing ball swirl is not an exact science - it takes practice. It is better for you to take your time and gain some confidence.

The main thing that came out of today was that I didn't destroy it and it has three good layers of wax on it for now to give it a bit more protection and some shine.  Some areas of ball swirl just didn't seem to change even with a bit more pressure and rubbing - that's when I got scared and thought it best to save it for another day and get some more tips and tricks off you guys.
