The block sanding after 4 coats lets you flatten out the brush marks and any imperfections.

If you don't mind me asking, what 'grit' sandpaper did you use after the 4 coats ?
800 wet and dry used after 4 coats. 1200 to finish.

I see it as still being sandpaper ... !
