Paul, I'm in for the afterparty, its in Kings Cross so we'd probably have to get a taxi there as it would be a bit of a walk.
Regarding pubs to meet beforehand, looking on Google maps the Imperial hotel looks ok & is just down the road. The Paddo RSL is just across the road so is another option bit its an RSL so might be a hassle to get in
