When I played it I don't remember 'slow' as a word I would use.The modern Sterns (at least POTC and LOTR), as far as I can tell, are designed to keep the ball in play for a fairly lengthy period of time, so if you are playing with a mate, you will have time to go to the toilet, make yourself a drink and a quick snack, and still get back before your turn.
