The replacement braces have had plenty of time to dry, so I've tacked in 6 nails (from the inside). It is now as strong as it is ever going to be. Next step is to drill out the legbolt holes. Looks harder than it is. Due to the profile of the braces I've used, I'm stilling into a square and straight profile, not into a corner wedge. I use a 3/8 Drill bit and start drilling. After they holes have been completed, I place the legbolt plate into position and nail it into the brace after checking the bolts fit without any issue. Looks like this when done;

After repairing the corners and filling in the divots, I've primed the section under the legs. This had to be done as at some stage, the game had the wrong legs (or defective ones), and they "dug in" to the wood. Moisture caused a bit of an issue in this area, so it was sanded, filled, sanded and primed. The idea is to paint the section white after the repairs.

Siderails

I was not happy with the scratched siderails and the corroded nails. This is how it looked and I didn't like it at all;

With the siderail removed, here are the tools required - WINDEX - YES - But it has to be the Original Windex, not the cheap stuff. You also need 240 or 360 Grit Wet/Dry - I used 240 Grit as this one was rough. First spray the siderail liberally ;

Then with a very straight hand and not too much pressure - glide across the siderail - Trick here is to have enough Windex to allow the sandpaper to move freely in long sweeps. Not enough windex will cause the motion to stop / start. You will feel the sandpaper "bite". When it stops biting - change it !

Here's the first pass on a finished siderail, and the other siderail that I have not started ;
