Big Update !

Next job was to clean and check the baseboard. Plenty to do here. The contacts had to be cleaned and checked - initially with an air compressor and then each part was removed and cleaned. I did not obviously remove each complete switch stack - that would take forever ! Each contact was cleaned and adjusted. There was no way this machine was ever going to work - it had that many attempts to incorrectly adjust the contacts on the relays !

Here's a before picture ;

The baseboard is stripped. I sand the wood using 120 Grit and then refit the cards after cleaning them. I don't scan these as I don't like the scan printing out on white paper - I use original where possible, and if they are in poor condition, I laminate them.

Stepper Unit Rebuild

Big, bad and ugly. Had no hope in the world of working properly. Needed some serious rebuilding !

There's some serious grime !

After degreasing and soaking in alcohol, the unit can be rebuilt and tested before returning to the game.

Stepper is installed, all relays etc are done as well. A new power cable is installed - ready to go !

STEPPER BLING

One of my favorite pictures !
