What makes this smell? All my EM's have got it ? Is it the continous arcing of contacts or the timber used or maybe the cotton covered insulation on the cables.
Anyone out there know?

Old pins smell, just like old people smell. Your getting close to being an EM yourself Spurry.

Always wanted to know the exact answer ! I think it was the contacts arcing and the smell of lubrication. Some machines that have been stored for a long period of time smell "old" !

Still - It is instantly recognizable
