Hey guys,

Small update today - work got the best of me this week, which meant very little playfield work.

Every playfield insert was removed, along with its original screen printed text. These got a thorough clean, and are ready to be re-glued and levelled as soon as i have prepared the playfield.

All inserts carefully removed...

And ready for a wash...

A couple of closeups...

And another...

And another...

I also refinished the underside of the playfield. Plenty of black grime, grease and soot ingrained on this one. Took a bit of work but the results are well worth it.

Before...GRIMEY!!

After...SMOOTH again!!

Today i'm re-installing and levelling the playfield inserts (without the insert decals), and i'll allow the glue to fully cure before my first clear-coat goes down...

I'm still not sure what i'm going to do re the insert decals and lighting. I've seen some really nice results that have been upset by the heat given off by a #44 globe...has anyone used a #47 globe along with insert decals and clear coat with positive results? Or do i go the LED route and bring the game into 2010 with some newer style lighting, which at the same time will eliminate the heat issue altogether?

Any thoughts?

Have a good weekend guys,
