Yes, sound is much richer as you would expect.
It's an 8" subby I got from Jaycar. Correct impedance but no other fruit.
The factory speaker's doped surround slowly disintegrated before my eyes, hence the upgrade.
I was so pleased with the improvement that I plan go the whole 9 yards on all my machines using Tony Dziedzic's fantastic site to guide me.
This will encompass cabinet woofers, backbox midranges, inductors, crossovers etc where advised.
