35 bucks to re-zinc isn't unreasonable. Another alternative is waxing, although replating would work too.

Some people chrome the playfield standoffs, power box, prop rod etc, too.

The metal polish I use has a rust inhibitor in it, and I've not had parts re-rust after using it.
