I've installed two Pascal 4 in 1 boards and they are excellent. For a few extra $, you can buy the enhanced sound daughterboard. This is only for selected machines, and it adds extra sounds - similar to SYS80 sounds. I installed this arrangement on a Genie and it was simply outstanding !

I keep an Altek as a spare. When restoring an older SS title, you need to have a stable board to test the machine before placing the original board back into the game. I always attempt to repair the original MPU, and out of 20 - 30 boards, only one has "stumped" me. Always a good idea to have an Altek lying around !

I'm thinking along the same lines - I expect the video boards to be a nightmare, so I want less to worry about when troubleshooting! (I might still scrap 'em and get the set from PBR for $200usd)

I'm a stubborn prick though - I like to fix things rather than just toss money buying stuff... (Guess I am in the right hobby then... #@#)

It will run original one day... Even if it kills me...  ^^^

Why is it called PMS?
Because "Mad Cow Disease" was already taken...
