check out onkyo range. I have had these amps for years, and tend to update when the warranty runs out (used to be 5 years).
I generally buy below the $2K which gets their upper models if you haggle at JB's.
I see they have models out now with 9.2. I think the speakers are the thing now that could blow out your budget LOL
