"Strangeways" is actually From the KISS Song "Strange Ways" written by Ace Frehley (my favorite Guitarist of all time).

I had a passionate dislike for grunge in the early 90's and everytime I heard the story that "Nirvana invented grunge", I would quote both "strange ways" and "Goin' Blind" were recorded on the "Hotter than Hell" album while Nirvana were in nappies. There was a Nirvana fan that once challenged me on "the first grunge song in history", and after listening to "strange ways", two things happened -

He agreed that "Strange Ways" was indeed the "first grunge song recorded", and that he would call me "strangeways" from that day onwards.

It is also one of my very favorite guitar solos of ANY song, and many modern day guitarists (Marty Friedman, James Hetfield, Bruce Kulick) credit the solo as one of the best solos ever recorded.

Ahh to be young again..

The only "Pinball" related name I ever had is quite funny. Dad used to maintain his pins while wearing a distinctive grey dustcoat. The young punks used to call him "Professor" - Coat and white hair.  He used to drag me EVERYWHERE he went when I was young, and the punks used to ask Dad - "Hey Professor, who's that young guy. Your "apprentice" ?

So I was just known as the "Professor's Apprentice".
