Let's keep our fingers crossed that this strike does not happen of you will be in deep do-do.

Storage charges (mine are normally $200 a day) will still apply even if you can't access your container due to a strike for a month....unfair, but that's the way it is and one of the unknowns when importing. I factor in some delays and expenses with EVERY container and end up paying half the time.

That would be a shame. Hopefully the container has already been delivered and emptied. Some Freight Fowarders can access their containers within 24 hours of the ship arriving and hold it in their own Quarantine area until delivery. Some freight forwarders have to wait until the slot is booked for pickup, which can be 2-4 days after the ship arrives and the container sits in port. This was one of the reasons I changed freight forwarders.
