That is a interesting thing with Gottlieb, playfield overlays. I remember talking with Steve Young in the past about it & he said no. Lately we see that new retro Gottlieb King of Diamonds is what, a new overlay! I talked with my printer & we have done a few overlay tests. Looks real nice with art on clear, then laminated. He told me that he can do even better by cutting out holes, etc. after printing & laminating.

I have asked here in the past looking for someone to provide art for Gottlieb. 300 dpi is all that's needed, can be in photoshop, corel, ai, etc. but the printer says vector graphics is needed to do the cutting. So you could do the graphics in non vector & have a seperate non used color for cutting in vector, the printer removes that color for cut file. This would allow samples for Gottlieb & person doing the work, hopefully to open that market. If not it allows for making of new playfields for Gottlieb.

I had a lawyer incorporate my company, Great Pinball Limited. Also have obtained $2,000,000 liability insurance which is a requirement of Gottlieb LLC. Steve Young & Robert Fesjian, have both given the approval this year for product testing of new playfields (non licensed titles). Have a cnc lined up (not cpr), & will do playfields the direct ink way.

Here is the custom Flash Gordon overlay a guy has done & will be installing. Please remember the backing which is white is removed, he will have masked & sprayed his playfield white & followed the direct ink process of restoration:
