If you are handy and have a key to use, you can re-key these locks.
I wonder if a locksmith could cut me one if i take the lock in? just thought it would be easier if someone had the same lock number

all depends - it could be the original lock and key - and only one set would have been made.
Hmmm, never had much luck with locksmiths.
He would have to take the lock apart to cut a new key, could be costly.
New locks usually sell for $5 to $10 so its probably not worth it, I imagine the old lock is a bit rusty looking after 30 years anyway.
