In addition to Owen's suggestion - clean all the contacts in whichever score reel is playing up. I assume just one or two, and not all are not resetting ?
Once a game commences - do any points score before serving the first ball ?
Sometimes - if the game has not been played for a while, it fixes itself in time. Contacts start to work again and the machine will be trouble free for years.
