Looks like a daguerreotype...
Don't worry just looked it up.... for those too lazy like I was "a photograph taken by an early photographic process employing an iodine-sensitized silvered plate and mercury vapor". :)
It was just me being silly by implying that the seller used a very primitive method of photography with a low quality resultant image.
