Hi, a little embarassed here but ive never done a playfield strip before. Last things i have to remove are the pop bumpers, roto target and flipper bats..

How do i remove the pop bumpers, roto and flipper bats from the top of playfield...? I dont want to remove them from the underside (desoldering etc) as i want to keep it simple as possible..

I feel like such a noob but i guess i gotta start somewhere..

Thanks!

Pop bumpers are a pain to remove, do you REALLY need to? You will have to unsolder the lamp
flippers are removed from under the playfield (unless it is a Zac), look at the flipper mech, it will be obvious (and simple)
and if you are giving the playfield a good clean then you should look at also doing a flipper rebuild

roto targets, not sure
but if you have a look at Ninos restoration threads you will find he rearly unsolders anything
soleniods and switches are unbolted from the assembly and left in place

Good to see you get your hands dirty, Rob.

Flipper Bats -This is for the GTB Baseball ? Remove the two screws from the top of the bats and they should pop out. Then you need to go under the playfield and remove the grub screws from each pawl. Once removed, the flipper shaft can be lifted from the playfield.

Pop Bumpers - Under the playfield - Desolder the lamp socket. Remove the two nuts on the pop bumper ring. Top of the playfield - remove the pop bumper cap and remove the two screws holding the pop bumper body to the playfield. They should come out easy.

Thanks guys!

Yeah Nino, its time i got my hands dirty but im kinda scared at the same time!

The flippers dont have any screws on top of the playfield and so far have only undont the 3 screws underneath.. so i will have to punch out the grub screws?

With the bumpers, i have undone the screws under the caps on top and the 2 nuts (one on each rod) underneath. So it looks like im almost there on the pop bumpers needing to desolder lamp socket. Will punch out grub screws and see what happens lol

yep i found a guide in the 101 section. All removed except for roto target as it just seems too painful.

2 tools is all you need
HAMMER and a SCREWDRIVER ! if your keen add electrical tape.
This will remove anything from a play field %.%
Crash and bash both tools together and either use electrical tape to stick it back together or can be used as band aids/first aid dressing!

Yep heaps of photos ! ^^^ especially for the old girls
It is good fun though

If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.
