Hi Guys,
I mentioned this one in another thread but thought I may as well kick the restoration thread off properly. This ones going to take me a while and I won't fully commit to stripping this machine down until I've finished the Flash Gordon I'm working on. In fact I brought this machine to play while I'm working on the FG but I just couldn't help myself. The sound board had a little issue so I've removed all of the boards and sent them all up to Beaky for an overhaul. Anyway while the boards are out I decided to clean the machine up a little and hopefully improve the play a little until I'm ready to get stuck right into it.
Here's the coin door before. I think it had probably had quite a few drinks spilt down the front of it in another life but I couldn't stand the gritty feel it had so it had to be cleaned up.
The lock down bar assembly was also rusted and had some sort of seal coat applied. I guess it was to help stop more rust appearing.
Doors now cleaned up.
Including the front of the door and I rebuilt the shooter assembly at the same time. Very simple to do but it makes a big difference, it moves and springs very nicely now. The cabinets obviously not great but that will come later.
Flippers and the assembly's have also been done. Once the boards are back I'm sure this will make a big difference to the game play also.
