Interflip Dragon (Melbourne)
« on: March 23, 2009, 11:46:30 PM »
Did anyone else notice this one? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DRAGON-a-super-rare-pinball-classic_W0QQitemZ160323261224QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_15?hash=item160323261224&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318 It's located in Box Hill South. This would have to be pretty rare in Australia, wouldn't it?

I think it's more a novelty than a collector's item.

Saw it yesterday and did google it a little out of curiosity. Doesn't sound like that much of a player's game, and woder - are the parts unique, or can Gottlieb etc be substituted?

Couldn't find much useful, except this -

Having a perspex playfield sure is different; I am guessing they use someone else's parts (coils, plungers and so on) to build the thing so one should be able to find substitutes, but it is a gamble.

From memory - you can use some GTB parts on Recel & Interflip games. Playmatic are proprietary and Segasu are WMS

Wasn't there a couple of these found NIB in Canada a few years ago?. I didn't take much notice of this auction, but the machine having electronic sounds rings a bell (pardon the pun)  :lol

That is the first thing I noticed last night - it's a Williams Zig Zag from 1964

Just to let you know, this ended up at $1200. I guess the rarity factor pushed it up there.
