Target switches. Capacitors required?
« on: May 23, 2013, 06:59:04 AM »
I have some new targets to go on my Flash Gordon which I will need to but diodes on but their are also capacitors on the original targets but I'm not sure that they would have originally been there. Should I put them on the new ones?

The game would've originally had 0.05uF ceramic caps on all of the standup targets to help the mpu register a fast switch closure, this one in your pic has obviously been replaced at some stage (the original ceramics can short out over time)

So i would say yes reinstall the caps on the new targets.

Cheers Mitch

0.047 is the preferred value - I don't mean MY preferred value but industry preferred value.

Jaycar will have 0.047ufd
Replacement Pinball PCBs that remain faithful to the originals
