Best DMD Stern ever made ? Best other brand DMD ever made ?
« on: March 12, 2014, 12:44:09 AM »
Hoping to move the forum back to a place of discussion and ideas, just not restorations. Anyone can read Clays guides for that.

Now that Stern has been putting out some great titles, have peoples positions about what the BEST Pinball Machine on the planet is ?

From your perspective, whats the best pinball EVER made >

Is it a Stern or a older game for the 1990;s.

Or do u think the title should be shared between a Stern and a Older game from your or someone elses collection.

For me personally,

I am going to pick X MEN Pro - ticks all the boxes and I play this game with my beautiful 4 year old son Hunter. He just loves the playfield toys n noises, as do I.
I am also a huge John Borg fan with many of his earlier 90's dmd titles.

Other BEST game for me out of the other 40 this month is Star Trek Next Generation - just a limousine to stand in front of, and I love all things Star Trek.

Whats your favourite machines. Hoping for a positive fun thread without any haters joining in.

Tell the forum your thoughts on your current best 2 x ever games !

AC/DC. My favourite pinball machine I think. Love my Metallica and the music, but AC/DC was the perfect storm. So "Thunderstruck" by that machine. They were never one of my favourite bands, but when I got that machine in my collection, it was pure magic. 12 full songs was a new thing for pinball and they were great rocking songs. The gameplay was difficult, but you could also have long fulfilling games where everything just flowed. It was a machine I played and played and played and didn't tire of the gameplay after a few weeks or months.

Very happy pinball memories when AC/DC arrived in the house and got even more of a kick out of it, due to the fact that all my friends wanted to play pinball for once and check out the AC/DC pinball machine. I think AC/DC was also a turning point for pinball and there needs to be some recognition for this machine in the resurgence of current pinball popularity.

Cheers!
Adam.

Wow, that's a tough one. Guns n Roses was my favourite before AC/DC, but don't think it's my favourite non-Stern machine.....Williams T2 is another favourite due to the theme, the simplicity and the flow.

Despite collecting machines for 5 years, there's still a LOT of machines I'd like to spend time on. Addams Family is a popular game, but only played it briefly on a dealer's showroom floor and back in the arcades when I was a kid.

Will go with Terminator 2 for the non-Stern favourite.
