WTB: Whitewater restoration parts.
« on: March 25, 2014, 12:47:58 AM »
Hi all,

I've just picked up a Whitewater which is in pretty good nic.  I'll be enjoying it for the short term, but will give it the full restoration treatment over the coming months and I'm starting to collect all the bits and pieces.

If you have anything which may be helpful in bringing back a WH20 to "as new" condition, please drop me a line.

New (as good as new) parts needed are, and are not limited to:
Translite
Playfield, main and mini
Cabinet decals
Full set of plastic ramps
Side rails
Original Topper decal

If you have any other spares, please feel free to contact me.

Cheers

Chris

not sure about local but OS these guys have reproduced them, but with the ramps check with RTBB here in Aus as he is Pinball Inc's distibutor.

There is known to 2 be 2 slight (only a expert would know) colour mistakes in the whitewater playfield and I don't know about the decals as phoenix are known as some of the best ones. As for Pinball Inc they have various sized sets and this is probably the worst machine for replacing ramps on. Side rails can be found in Aus and someone is trying to reproduce the stamp to get the foil waterfall decal just right - doubt you will find a NOS.

Hope that helps,

Appreciate the in depth reply Swinks. I did read about the slight colour differences between the Mirco and original playfields. I'm pretty particular about keeping it original, but am not that anal.

I'm still weighing up which way to do it... Restore the original PF, which is in pretty good nic or go repro. When I did my Funhouse restore, having a new repro PF next the original makes life very easy for transplanting. Roughly $1000 for a Mirco, or approx $600-$700 for a restored PF + any money made on selling the original PF. Pretty similar dollars in the end.

Regarding the WH2O playfield repro.

There is a fault in the repro playfields which has never been corrected from the first run or any subsequent print run.

The cowboy hat being held by the Kenny Rogers lookalike in the lower centre of the playfield is missing the orange colour band that is present in the originals.

For that reason, it will take about 2 seconds to distinguish between a repro and a restored original.

Something to consider.

Also, my 2 cents don't order direct from Mirco for playfields.

Go through a reseller like planetary pinball where there is some form of recourse/guarantee.
