What is this?
« on: April 21, 2014, 01:46:30 AM »
I've had a hunt through the manual and I'm either going blind, or insane. Either of which is a distinct possibility.

It was pulled from a non-operational TMNT cab and I have no idea what it's actually for.

What is this?

Looks like a simple tone generator?

As above, maybe a tone/chime for gameplay? or maybe just a tone when a coin enters the shute?

Could also be a very basic (low current) power supply.

Was this actually mounted in the cabinet? or just sitting in it? maybe something from another machine entirely?

VERY simple, whatever it is...  ;-)

I did have to tear it out, but I've just finished ripping apart the second TMNT cab and it didn't have one, so now I'm doubting my own memory.

Regardless, it's not much use to me, so if anybody wants it it's yours for the price of the postage.

Looks more like it came out of an old EM gun game from late 60's

Ok first off it looks like a POS - broken/ fractured PCB, very dirty so the trim pot will be compromised....
To me it looks like a.power supply, bridge rectifier, filter cap, I'm guessing the grey parts are actually heating and you probably have some regulators mounted on it.Z

Thanks for all the words of wisdom. Not something that seems to be of any use to anybody so it got vertically filed this afternoon ;)
