non-standard decals? destroy value
« on: May 12, 2014, 11:45:57 AM »
I am getting a star wars DE very soon which needs some serious restoration and agonizing over what decals to put on it, whether I stick with the light blue or paint the whole thing black and put these bad boys on it...

http://www.pinballcenter.eu/catalog/cabinet-decal-set-for-star-wars-black-edition-p-6453.html?language=english

They look better (to me) than the blues just kind of not sure whether I should restore a pin and commit to such a non standard look (would have to paint black too as would look odd otherwise)...

Not restoring it to sell but rather to keep so should probably just do what I like and get over it..  ::)

Make money or lose money? it is only money. As a hobbyist I look at the FUN factor and get paid back in smiles and laughter.
Pinball is a luxury to own and should be treated as such.
If you want guaranteed returns, put it in the bank.

Man, if you could see my pins! some really unoriginal things I have done to them. Spare bits were just not available. But I did not make them worse.

Go for it dude if it gives you pleasure, could even become the latest thing to do if people like it! just like modding?
 ^^^
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.

once you remove VAT I think it was about AUD$280 (was around $250 for the blue ones I think) but then add shipping, I ordered other stuff too so not sure exact shipping for just that item..

Yeah will be a long restore thread as it is a definite 'project' pin.. lol..
