El Dorado City of Gold
« on: May 07, 2009, 01:37:55 PM »
Now here is a game not often seen:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Pinball-Machine-El-Dorado-Antique-Pinball-machine_W0QQitemZ260406299448QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_15?hash=item260406299448&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

Once again poor and lack of photos -

IPDB: http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?name=El+Dorado+&pl=4&searchtype=advanced

Have to love the lines in the description:

In working order but may need a few spare parts. Not sure what that means  :lol

Obviously it is unlocked and we don't have a machine key, but I am sure you can work all that out  :lol :lol

Yeah Tony, You don't see them very often . I've only ever played it on my sons PSP "Gottliebs Classics".
Looks to be a Gottlieb remake of an earlier GTB EM Eldorado. I'd love one of them  *%*

Same playfield - El Dorado City of Gold is a remake of the classic El Dorado/Lucky Strike/Target Alpha/Solar City and Canada Dry from 1975 -77

Gottlieb was using classic playfield designs from the 1970s to save on production costs. They also remade Jacks Open 1977 (as Jacks to Open in 1984), Orbit/Outer Space 1972 (as Super Orbit in 1983) and Card Whiz/Royal Flush 1976 (as Royal Flush Deluxe in 1983)

Had a ball playing Solar City today, fun game! I suspect this SS version f the playfield design might lack the EM charm that aids the older games.

This game and also Jacks to Open rock as games, haven't played the other SS versions so can't comment.

Why the hell they remade Orbit/Outer Space  (((
