Shapeways Pinball Parts - pricing change
« on: October 03, 2014, 07:33:58 AM »
hi guys, many of you know that I have designed now quite a few things and made them available on Shapeways.

On Oct 7th their new pricing structure will kick in and they have explained to me that the price is determine by 3 factors:
- material used
- labour fee
- and the area that it uses fee

For many of my parts the cost will drop a little and I will adjust pricing to pay it forward to people, but one part will suffer noticeably are the Bally back box shrouds. If the opening is larger than 40mm the price drops alot but since these are just under and the odd shape these will go up a few dollars each. Not trying to cash in as I don't make much at all from these but if you need these you may as well get some in the next few days before prices go up (expected around $2 each). Postage is now a little more reasonable as well.

as for many of the other parts I would hold off as many will be dropping up to 20 cents, 50 cents and even a few dollars - like the Bally Ball return arm and the Stern coin chutes

I just don't want people to think I am taking them for a ride and bummer for those that bought things at the higher price and they are coming down now by a cents to a few dollars.

Only a few nights ago I did a order and one was a metal print for a new mod I am doing  && and it is now $30 cheaper in a few days  ^.^ (I paid $85 and will be $55) but good for the mod in the near future.

Very rarely do prices drop on any product. Good on you Jady for passing it on.   ^^^
I'm not cranky, I just want MORE pins!

Shapeways released the new pricing, so I fixed up all my parts at the store.

The ones that suffered were a few coloured plastic items and the white globe shrouds, with the remaining dropping in purchase price with a noticeable difference to the stern coin plates, sat dishes and gear shift plates especially the metal ones which is excellent.
