fuses
« on: April 05, 2015, 10:23:04 AM »

todays dumb question

a couple of weeks ago I picked this up at an auction in a former garage
a display case for fuses  ()
given if they are the right value, can I use car fuses in a pinball machine?

I did buy it more for the case than the fuses, but it would be a bonus if I could use them

Yes, so long as the voltage rating isn't under the 250V

Nice pick up you can't go wrong with that for 10 bucks. I don't know about your parts storage generally but I oftern end up buying things I already have because I haven't put things in very handy places. That display case is ideal.

Guys, can I please use this to ask a (perhaps) stupid noob question. What rating fuses should I have in my games (so far Shadow & Demo Man). I was reading a post (or maybe a restorer advert) where he said he rarely sees games with the correct value fuses for Oz. Cheers, Andy.
I enjoy Porsche, Gibson LPs, Bally-Williams & learning about pinball maintenance & restoration.

I can never find them initially but I always seem to end up finding them after I buy more and then store them in the same place as the last ones I brought.   @.@

The correct fuse values are listed in each game's manual.

If you don't have a copy, you can download it from the pinball database.

Pete, I think you scored a bargain with the fuse case.  Well done.

All listed in your manuals.

nice case -would look good tidied up with Hella decals or cardboard banner. some Styrofoam could be used to create some bulb holders - could split the case into multi- use.
as for buying what you already got, everything I own , if it has fuses there are spares taped to inside or back of fuse box/holder. I do this to everything I buy, saves searching when you need it the most.

Cool - that makes that easy- even gave me page numbers  ^^^  I always have this vision of the Shadow going up in a puff of smoke because it has giant fuses  !@#
Nice case - how good does picking something like that up cheap at a sale   ()
