Project pins are still at reasonable prices, thankfully. Picked one up the other day and have seen other projects sell or advertise for 'standard' prices. The biggest increase in prices seem to come from the so called C & B list working pinballs. Even collectors are buying them and accepting the general increase in price - starting from $500 from that of two years ago.

 People see an asking price and think that's what their machine is worth. Sinbad is a cracker of a game, one of my favourites but in average condition like this one it's not worth anything close to this asking price and its the same machine that was listed for almost 3 times this price only a week ago. They do have a "make an offer option" so I guess at least they're willing to negotiate.

There lies the biggest problem with inflated prices. I wonder if the game would be cheaper if there was a project Sinbad (missing boards, flaked backglass and filthy) listed for $400 ?

We all know eBay is just "window shopping" used by dealers to hook in unsuspecting buyers, but listing like this are borderline fraudulent in my opinion.

I love this description of a pinball being "shopped" or even better "fully shopped". In a lot of cases this seems to translate to - I have feather dusted this machine and now want an extra 500. Not saying all are like this but one mans shop is different to another's.

I'm sure the "friend" knows nothing about pinball machines either. Seems perfectly logical that someone with 50 of them wouldn't know a thing about them either.

If the seller knows "nothing" about pinball except inflated eBay prices, who doesn't he list them for $1 and see where the true value is ?

I have learned that it seems to be a viscous circle. I am reasonably new to pinball and haven't had the experience of others. I am a bit wiser about the situation now. Thanks.
