Making stencils ?

Hi there

I am looking to respray a cabinet - simple em with geometric shapes and need to make up some stencils.

I know that thin brass like the factory would be ideal but it aint going to happen.

I have heard people swear by thin acetate and thin vinyl?

What do you recommend?

I saw some clear thin (1 - 2mm) vinyl the other day in a store and it looked pretty good - anyone used that?

I've used the Acetate sheet method successfully in the past, but you will find some other methods in the restoration section, Ric. Look for the "Dracula" thread on the cardboard method. Look for the "Wildfyre" thread for Gav's Vinyl method !

Would this be for the Royal Guard you were restoring ?

I am finally getting some serious time shortly to attack a few projects and want to finish the RG cabinet at the very least

I think it needs a new srpay of underocat first as the wite seems a bit too off white

I always undercoat - 3 coats with 800 Grit in between coats. Can't wait to see your finished project !
