Bartronica Arcade, Melbourne City
« on: July 13, 2015, 12:18:24 AM »
Hi All,

Heard about a new barcade that has opened up called Bartronica on Flinders Lane in the Melbourne CBD. Apparently they have 6 pinball machines and some arcade machines. The first barcade for Melbourne I believe.

Bartronica has been on the following website for sometime.  It's the most upto date place to find pins on location in Melbourne:

https://melbournepinballfinder.wordpress.com/map/

The funny thing about Bartronica is that when they opened in late Jan, they had no pinballs.  When asked if they could get a pinball machine, they said "no - they are a maintenance issue'.  After hearing repeated requests (many times from the same people no doubt), they got Teenage Muniment Ninja Turtles.  Ever since, they have added one machine per month!

So don't be surprised if you see seven machines there soon.  Hopefully a new machine this time.  Currently they are all 90s pin games.

Sounds great, although nothing wrong with having older games.

Sounds like they are happy with the reliability of the 90s machines.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

They are all good machines at Bartronica.  But I tend to like the really old (60s/70s) and really new that I haven't played before.

A good mix of games would be great. I misunderstood thinking the only way to really make this work is to include new machines which I didn't entirely agree with. I will be checking this place out soon as I think it could be a nice fun spot to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Hope to meet some ap guys there too  ^^^

I was going to drop in here about a month ago after seeing this place on the pinball Finder app. Unfortunatly it wasn't open and I was going to the football for the afternoon so didn't get a chance to get back there. It'd be great to see some pics if anyone drops in.

Have a look at the original link above from Solar_Value to 'new-additions-bartonica'.  There are two photos there.

The Melbourne pinball map has the following lineup for Bartronica at the moment:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Data East 1991) - Goldeneye (Sega 1997) - Star Wars (Data East 1992) - Super Mario Bros (Gottlieb 1992) - Creature From The Black Lagoon (Bally 1992) - Pinbot (Williams 1986)

Great that they added Pinbot! Sad to see that Lights, Camera, Action has left though, was having fun with that one last week.
