Flipper alignment
« on: June 24, 2009, 01:08:49 AM »
Just had to loosen off my upper flipper on my whitewater and got to thinking, where should it be lined up to, I have seen heaps of images showing both ways so thought I'd throw it up to find out what you guys thought.

In the flyer it shows it should be inline with the ball guide which is where I would normally set up a flipper to, such as this image from IPD:

but my pin used to be set up in line with the metal piece sitting behind the flipper (which looks slightly better) like this:

Here is the original flyer off IPD:

When I first got mine it was lined up with the steel rail behind the flipper but was weak for the ramp shots-So I now have moved it away by about 6mm and it shoots all the ramps with no problem..

That is interesting Peter, I didn't think it would alter the shots much, just move the 'sweet spot' up or down the flipper bat.
I was leaning towards the in line with ball guide position anyway, as the roll pin that the factory sets them from, is in this position.  Just thought I'd see some other ideas

Not sure on the newer playfield but Ems have a roll pin pressed into the playfield the flippers were sat on them and tightened once they were tight the roll pins were pressed right into the Playfield you can push a toothpick into the rollpin for alignment.

Yeah same set up Daniel, that is the usual guide for me, but I have seen so many photos showing both alignments thought I'd ask the question
