Looking at my T2 again after reading and viewing youtubes of freeze spray techs on mylar removal, I'm leaning towards giving the COLD option a try. It looks real easy on the videos but is it?
I have studied the mylar on my machine and there's lots of spots where its lifting and screaming to be removed. I even removed a sling mylar piece by just ripping it off
WHAT I hear you say....don't panic, it was stuck on top of the major mylar piece. Came of real easy.
However, I am still uncertain whether to go Hot or Hot and Goo Gone or Freeze spray. I'm leaning towards freeze thinking it may minimized lifting insert decals (re: MartyJ case) but would like comments on whether this theory is correct.
Has anyone tried the freeze method with or without success on a Diamond plate? Otherwise I'd probably go the hairdryer/goo gone squirt method to kill two birds with one stone (mylar off at the same time glue removal).
BTW it looks like I have factory mylar on the machine and no playfield wear whatsoever. I do have a slightly lifted insert with mylar over it. Do you suggest fixing this before mylar removal or after?
