Earth braid soldered to the base is common on all the manufacturers of this era. Just take your time.

How about posting a resto thread - I'm keen to see the progress of your Caveman.

There isn't really any progress - I concentrated on PZ for a while to get that cleaned up and okay to play...

So Far.

Been stuffing around with the electrics - my one good power supply only goes to 4.85v max :( (the other one has the burnt bits ripped out already - no 5v)

CPU board is missing every chip, so has not been plugged in. (It looks clean enough)

Driver board has been raided for parts - needs divine intervention... Might be a rottendog job. Missing 1 PBD board as well as the CPU reset board.

My 2 sound cards are the wrong ones for CM (I got the smaller (older?) one with the test switch in the middle?)

There are 5 video boards mounted in the bottom of the machine to drive the monitor - there is a dead short in there somewhere as well... (Have not even pulled them to look why yet) I can hear the monitor power up and degauss - so that's a good sign.

The playfield itself I would like you to see it Nino - will have to bring it around one weekend?

There is no major damage or wear - couple of wear spots around sunken inserts etc. I think it will come up A1...

Why is it called PMS?
Because "Mad Cow Disease" was already taken...
