G'Day
I am looking for some advice if possible on how to go about repainting my Jungle Queen cabinet. As the backglass and playfield are mint, I felt it worthwhile to give it a good splash. Firstly, I must say that I have made every attempt to purchase stencils which I have always used on my other restores but in this case to no avail.
If anyone has access to these, please let me know and I will source.
Otherwise, looking at Wotto’s site and the Gorgar repaint, I noticed some little tricks with the order of colours and where to add colour as opposed to using it a base. Example the red applied early and then later in the process.
Wotto kept the old cabinets as a reference so could trace then place and paint. I will not have the artwork as a reference when I add the yellow and black.
I have watched DDtoys latest restore as well but would just appreciate some advice here if possible
I would trace the black colours as cut-outs on one piece of tracing paper which I would mark the cabinet corners. I am assuming that as I will need to store these in between jobs it would be better to use the tracing paper than contact. ??
Then do the same with the yellow and mark each page with the fill colour and reference points.
Then I would trace onto the contact Wotto nominated and cut out. Remove backing apply and paint.
First the white background colour, then the yellow and finally the black.
I have used Acrylic and later enamel on Gorgar. I think the acrylic cost is much higher and this time am thinking enamel would be best. Any ideas? Am I on the right track?
