3 x new additions arrived today.
1 x GODZILLA and my 2nd STAR TREK NEXT GENERATION, and a THEATRE OF MAGIC. All in excellent condition.
I had paid for them and seen them a few months ago but hadnt picked them up from a great mate of mine, who I have bought about 5 machines from now. Still got to pick up the Theatre, but will do that in a week or two when time is available.
The surprising thing was, that my good friend knew I wanted a Dinosaur pinball so he went and imported the GODZILLA in for me as a surprise and went and imported a Theatre of Magic for me as well. What a top bloke. Pricing was extremely attractive.
The Star Trek Next Gen just became avail so i jumped on that from him too.
I had fully paid the $ a few months back, but couldnt find the time to go and get them. They were in safe hands ofcourse. Its not like the house is void of other machines, so it was ok to be patient.
Well, we loaded the Next Gen and Godzilla and got them inside.
After work tonight, my mission was to :*Strip the playfield of Godzilla, do a complete clean and removal of every plastic, ramp, entire playfield everything etc etc, change every bulb and flasher, adjust diverters, check rubbers n replace everything and everything you could imagine to make the machine like new. I had bought plenty of bulbs n bits n pieces from Mark in the past, so spare stuff was in hand. I have always bought in bulk from Mark and with the pricing being so attractive, anyone can do a full refurb for pocket change. (theres a plug for ya Mark, not that ya need it.lol)
And the refurb cost me bulbs and a few rubbers only, plus elbow grease.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE.The machine looks and plays unbelievable. It took Beaky (Andrew) and I a solid 4 and a half hours, non stop 2gether, to do the entire job.
I used a full packet of baby bum wipes and these work a treat on everything, gentle ,yet very effective !
The bright green ramps look like new, every bulb is bright and the whole experience has left me feeling completely satisfied.but stuffed.
Bloody hard work, Andrew had wife n kids waiting for him for dinner, so we worked like the wind.
A BIG THANKYOU TO ANDREW (Beaky). Andrew knows his way around a pinball machine, you name it, he can fix it. Circuit boards, anything and everything.Talented. AND I MIGHT ADD isnt a pain in the neck anymore (lol) since his BK2000 is in his hot little hands.(but thats another post and thats Andrews pleasure to tell u about when the time is right).
Anyway, this Godzilla was the only machine I have bought that wasnt recently shopped, but i gotta say, is a fun and worthwhile experience doing the lot yourself, from start to stop.It also helped that the machine had alot of brand new stickers n decals inside from its original service pack, which also made life easier.
I will try to take some photos on saturday. Thanks for reading.
Next is the Next Gens makeover, followed by Theatre, and will be within the week if i can muster the energy (and Andrews help).
Cheers.Thanks for reading.
