I was in a similar position when I got my 1978 Playboy. Now I get to play it every day and admire the rails, nails and shine from end to end!
I would keep wondering if it would have looked better had I not taken the rails off but I have no regrets!

Did the same with Gorgar!

If you havent played it yet maybee the rush to play it needs to come into the equation?

Yep .. I am already looking forward to admiring the end result . As I've said in my resto thread I am dtermined to finish the restore before playing a single game , otherwise I reckon I'd be in danger of never finishing the resto  :lol  .. mind you the temptation to put it back together and play it is getting harder to resist by the day

Well I've started work on removing the rails , using the technique Nino posted a while back . 4 more nails and the 1st side rail will be off. Unfortunately I had to stop and go to work (at work now  !!!)
