BALLY SS DISPLAY ISSUES
« on: September 30, 2009, 04:38:38 PM »
AHHHHHH  ^&^  im ready to shoot this Star Trek was all finished ready for a game turned it on and the player one display came up with the Ball \ credit display info.

The credit display came up with the credit info but no ball in play and the other 3 displays were fine.   Switched it off had a can then turned it on and all the displays were back to normal except the Credit display is still missing the ball in play info?

Any ideas what the problem might be tell me its a quick fix i just want the damn thing gone  ^.^

disconnect the Credit display - still happens ?

Then ;

disconnect the battery for 15 minutes - Fire it up without the battery.

Could be a dodgy CMOS 5101.

straight from the Marvin's guide (thought I'd seen this before !)

"Player one display always displays the same information that's in the credit/ball display."
Maybe a problem with the start button! The start button has a piece of "fish paper" (insulating paper) behind the last leaf. This stops the switch leaf from touching the metal support behind the switch. The fish paper had torn, and allowed the switch blade to touch the metal (grounded) support. This has the effect of grounding a row or column of the switch matrix. This will cause all kinds of strange problems! A new piece of fish paper, and the player one display worked fine.

Thanks Nino
             Booted the game up and it worked fine except the ball in play digits removed the display and replaced the resistors and we were back in business maybe the resistors dying on boot up caused the issue?

  YEAH ITS FINISHED
