I think they refund the dollar, at least in the US I read they do. That's how they confirm the account is 'good'. I know when I signed up, they deposited some cents into my account, and I had to verify the account by telling them how many cents it was.

I am not very pro eBay either, but it's necessary as that's where some sellers put their wares. Thinking of my gameroom, I think I bought my sample T2 there for 800 USD, everything else I have in my collection or lineup were purchases direct from people.

The guy selling the T2 has sold me lots of games in the past. He contacted me because he knew I like sample and proto games. When I asked him how much, he wanted $1400. I told him it was simply too much for how beat the game was, and countered with 1000. He declined and said he would list on eBay.

Then, I got it off eBay for less.  Sometimes it works to save you money!

Sometimes, you're the fisherman, sometimes, you're the fish. The only person who seemingly always gets their catch is eBay!

I recieved a new visa card from bank, so then updated my details on paypal, who then promptly charged me a dollar for my effort.......
Its only a buck, but bloody pisses me off, the greedy pricks are milking both buyer and seller.

I also love the way paypal when the Aussie dollar is 93c they only convert it at 85c another way to screw us over lol

Another quality listing

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/pinball-machine-baleys_W0QQitemZ200404998196QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_15?hash=item2ea9119834   %.%

Looks like a scam listing to me - FB of '1' - a single downloaded 'tiny' picture - practically no description ('cause they have no idea what it is) and incorrect spelling of the brand in the heading and the listing.

Scam listing for sure.

I like Ebay for parts - can find things O/S that you would never get here for older machines.  Postage is my main gripe, I can live with Paypal for the convenience.  For machines, I have bought and sold, but it is not my favoured method.

cheers

I have used cash or bank deposit without any problems, never used stinking pay-pal ,I heard from a mate that it is a rip-off ,I also paid off my master card in full, then proceeded to the teller & cut it up, Credit cards are the most dispicable things on the planet. $#$

Hmmm, sellers reckon price too low, buyers say price to high - that's not ebay, that's human nature!

To me the biggest issue is getting fair and accurate descriptions, I suppose the feedback system goes someway to helping here, but sometimes it comes down to one man's Ming dynansty vase is another's busted teapot.

I reckon it saves a lot of machines going to the dump which has to be a good thing.

Another immeasurable benefit is that it gives us something to moan and complain about %.%
