Hmmm strange u didnt escalate it further, allowing someone to keep their money AND your item is FRAUD, take it higher if PP doesn' cover you....but they should, they're obligated to by LAW.

I've used EB+PP for aaaaages, and had mishaps, people change their minds, claims etc etc and in every case i got my $$ back, they got their $$ back....maybe i know how to use it properly  :lol

Perhaps the older PP mishandled things b4 Ebay bought them? but it shure as f**k works for me and everyone i trade with.  #*#
Many of my work collegues and their partners spend a lot of time wheeling & dealing, all their claims work too.
MM.

Like I say - until it goes bad for you it doesn't hit home....

In the case of the printer the guy offered to pack it and sent it if I paid him $800 to pack and send it (and it had to be by bank deposit - hahaha) and PayPus agreed with him! I went to the police and guess what - "it's a civil matter"

Don't worry - they will bite you...........

I might just round up 10 or so spectacular cases - ones where I have solid documented proof and start a thread specifically about how shonky an outfit they are.......it would open a few eyes I can assure you. After losing over 10K with PayPus I gave eBay selling away.

Actually, after really thinking about it, Homepin has done us a big favour re paypal. The protection is not really worth anything unless u really know their system back to front.
I am going to really study the whole paypal protection policy(s) in detail and try n report back what goods n bads i find.

The only real way to do business with paypal is to pay via a credit card. If u are not happy, and dont get ya stuff, u simply raise a dispute with your credit card company whi instantly refunds your money and debits the paypal people. I have personally done this when a radio controlled plane that came from the USA missing stuff and it was clearly second hand.
Thats one of the big problems, if a buyer buys something from u , using paypal via their credit card, they can do the same thing even if they have the stuff and they are bodgey. I am going to attend a paypal seminar that is being conducted on the gold coast and i am going to find every trick in the book so i (we) can make sure we do not get dudded.

That guy who dudded homepin for that 2300 machine, would be in a forrest somewhere if he took me for 2300.
Hey homepin, we can always team up and go find him. lol lol lol lol. it shits ya for sure. I would be furious x 1 million for $2300.Oucchhh.

I would probably blow up the paypal building or something. lol lol lol. but i totally understand why u hate paypal now. Now, to study paypal more for sure.

Really irks me that banks can withdraw funds from your accounts without your approval. We put so much blind faith in financial institutions, dont have much choice really.

That's for sure - you will NEVER get through all of the fine print.

"I am going to attend a paypal seminar that is being conducted on the gold coast" - good luck getting the truth....

Let me finish in this thread by saying one very obvious thing:

If PayPus was so attractive to use, safe, don't share your personal details (which flies in the face of what an earlier poster said) why did eBay AU FORCE everyone to use it????

If it was so fantastic why wouldn't everyone flock to it anyway???

Answer - IT'S NOT SAFE and nor is it any of the other bullshit reasons they use to trick people, that's why eBay had to FORCE people to use it. Think about that.

PayPus also 'pretends' it is an insurance company/policy - they don't EVER take ANY risk - if you claim, they take the money back from the seller - if they can't get any from the seller then they will find a bullshit reason to NOT refund your money - they NEVER lose!

I spent an hour tonight reading various paypal rules n policy.
So far, i can find about a dozen rules which totally contradict about a dozen of their other rules. WTF.

Its a friggin minefield of escape clauses, and ALL for Paypal. No answers in there, just more questions.  ^&^
