Strangest Place you have aquired a Pinball
« on: January 07, 2010, 10:34:40 PM »
At the end of last year it was hard rubbish time in our area.  So one weekend I put all the junk out the front of our place and was working in the garage.

Anyway a guy (junk collector) driving by in a big truck pulls over to check what I had put out, sees me in the garage and sees some of my pins and comes in to ask me a question.

Turns out he is local and wants me to look at a flipper problem on a pinball he has.   Went and fixed it yesterday, just a contact problem.  Turns out he got the machine off a nature strip as someone had put it out for hard rubbish collection.  Other then the flipper it worked fine, it is a GOTTLIEB OPERATION THUNDER...

HOW LUCKY IS THAT,  A FREE PINBALL...

Anyway, it got me thnking, where is the most obscure place or the best bargin Pinball you have found??

Bought a Bugs Bunny Birthday Bash from a guy who owned a wrecking yard in sydney.

The machine had been bought by the wrecking yard owner for his 2 x young kids many years earlier.

The machine was a little grubby but after a clean up it was swwweeeetttt. ohhh, the coil on a kickout hole stopped working 7 years ago so it just sat there unused all that time. worked out well for me.

paid $1500 for this bugs bunny. a real bargain i reckon.  ^^^  ^^^  ^^^
