Backglass reflections on playfield - Go away !!!!
« on: December 12, 2008, 12:23:11 AM »
Hi All,

Is there a secret cure to remove backglass/score reflections form the playfield glass?
Some games are near-impossible to play due to reflections interfering with playfield view.

It'd be better to play without playfield glass on some games, although noisy  ^.^

Is there a polariser film or similar that can be applied to the backglass?

Thanx,
Marty.

I'm talking more about pins in general, not necessarily mine.
I notice a lot that i play can be awkward to view at times.

Just thought there might be a solution somewhere.

I too have noticed this with a lot of pins.  What i do is turn up the ambient light a tad, and this usualy fixes the problem.
I find that to play in a darkened room, the light show looks really good, but not practical.  Or....mabye im missing something @.@

Not a solution to complete backglasses, but the DMD glare problem has a solution - see the "Pin Zero Glare Guard" here: www.ZonedOutPins.com

The fellow that makes them is Kim (Mr 68 on RGP) who is a top guy, we have regularly emailed over the years.
“If you wanna escape, go up to a pinball machine. There’s a magic button on the front that takes you to a world under the glass and makes the the rest of the universe disappear.”

I was thinking that putting small shelter guards under each score display would then stop the downward light hitting the playfield glass, although it's gonna be un-attractive  !!!

just a thought.
