Golden West Amusements - Melbourne
« on: February 14, 2010, 10:35:56 AM »
After any information anyone may have tucked away in the memorys about an amusement operator/supply company in Melbourne known as Golden West.  They operated in the 70s maybe earlier.. I just remember seeing a lot of machines around in the 70s with the Golden West sticker on them...

Anyone help

I vaguely remember "Golden West" from the old days. I have a machine with a GW sticker on it. I'll have a look through some notes I have and I think I've seen a pricelist.

No them fairly well-Dad bought my 1st machine off them in the late 70's (playball) they where in Victoria street Richmond at the time and there's still to this day a big ad on the side of the building with a dude playing a pinball machine in cartoon style its now a second hand type shop. They moved some years later to a small factory in Greenwood street Richmond and I had purchased other machines off them including the 1st Harley Davidson pinball and some cocktails frogger was one of them-her name I have forgotten but they where nice to deal with and I can remember when I bought my playball there large showroom in Victoria street was lines back to back of EM's they where selling as they where one of the biggest operators in Australia and where always turning over second hand machines.

Yep, another thread somewhere on here mentioned the Richmond site and the old ad still up on the roof....
I'm yet to go back there and take pix for Nostaglia's sake, before it disappears.
