price check for Flash Gordon
« on: March 06, 2010, 10:38:21 PM »
Sorry about the late call here everyone, but i am in the same boat here.I will be looking at a Flash Gordon tomorrow morning and as described before viewing as backglass a 9.5 to 10, cab an 8.5 ,playfield a 9,all new drop targets, new bumper skirts, bodies, caps, new decals on spinners .A couple of touch ups around kick out hole and 1 of  the spinners.I have been looking for another machine for months now and this is a machine i like,so i would be interested in your comments.Owner has given a price he wants but the same as i paid for my Paragon, which is chalk and cheese as Paragon is a better machine and worth more no doubt. Thanks Tony.

Paragon and Flash Gordon are not in the same price bracket. Paragon is an "A" list Bally, Flash Gordon is a "B-".

All FG backglasses are 9/10 - I've never seen a bad one.

From your evaluation - $2200 - $2500 at a guess.

Thanks for the replies everyone,i went and had a look this morning, and i am glad i did as you cannot beat having a look at a machine in the flesh instead of buying sight unseen.Everyone has their own ideas when it comes to rating a machine as i also do,and i am a hard marker.I had one look at machine and knew it was not going home with me.Playfield i would rate a 7,cab a 5.Mylar had been removed and playfield was missing paint in various areas ect, which was not good enough for me as i am willing to pay good money but also expect a machine in good nick also.Good luck to the seller as someone will buy it as they might not worry so much about condition as i do.Cheers.

Keep in mind - that the playfields are being reproduced. I've never seen a 8/10 FG playfield. I'm on the list for a repro for mine  ^^^

I did check out CPR during the week as i knew i was going to view machine shortly and seen that they are doing these playfields. If it was in better condition i would have bought it and put in a new playfield later, but it was not as good as i had hoped. Thanks Strangeways for your feedback.
